Thousands of passengers have been told to “postpone” their Eurostar train journeys to and from Paris with the firm expecting cancellations and delays.
Eurostar said the disruption was “due to part of the track being temporarily closed on the French network” because of a power failure.
It advised passengers to keep an eye on the Eurostar website and app for further updates.
Nine trains between London and Paris have been cancelled for Monday while a further 17 have been delayed, according to the Eurostar website.
The firm has also cancelled and delayed several journeys between Paris and Brussels as well as Paris and Amsterdam.
“We advise passengers on these routes to postpone their journey if possible. They can exchange their ticket free of charge or request a full refund,” Eurostar added.
Other Eurostar journeys, such as those between London and Amsterdam, have not been affected by the issue.
Eurostar said the problem was “due to a power failure on the highspeed line” between Moussy and Longueil in France, which it said was being dealt with by France’s state-owned rail operator SNCF Réseau.
The firm said SNCF Réseau had told it that one track will be reopened at 18:30 CET (17:30 BST) and that this will “allow trains to run again on the high-speed line but with limited service”.
“Traffic should be able to resume on both tracks tomorrow morning when services start running again,” Eurostar added.
It said extra staff have been sent to affected stations to help passengers.
The Eurostar delays come at one of the busiest times of year for travel, with many Britons planning holidays during August.
It is not the first time this summer the Eurostar service has been disrupted. In June, Eurostar faced two days of cancellations and disruption after two people died in separate incidents on a French railway line.
