The Labour leader has said NHS staff and other public sector workers “need to be properly rewarded”.
Sir Keir Starmer spoke after the Department of Health made a 1% pay increase recommendation to the independent panel that advises on NHS salaries in England.
He said that was “insulting” and they should get a pay rise, while a pay cut was “completely the wrong thing”.
