This is a test recording I did in the spring of 1989 (the last time I restored this recorder to working order). The radio was my Collins R390A. It shows what great propagation conditions we had back then. There is news of Soviet elections, fighting in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, The pending release from prison of Nelson Mandella, the Exxon Valdez oil spill and problems at Boeing (where the tape runs out).
