Attacking Labour’s policy of not revoking existing licences for oil and gas extraction, Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer said the climate did not care who signed the permits – no new oil and gas meant no new oil and gas.
She also told her party’s conference in Brighton the Greens could boost their number of MPs from one to four at the next general election, strengthening their campaign for a nationwide home insulation scheme.
This would lower emissions, increase energy security and create jobs, while also warming homes and cutting fuel bills, Ms Denyer said.
