After staying overnight in Windsor Castle, US President Donald Trump bid farewell to the King and Queen.

“He’s a great gentleman and a great King,” the US president told the waiting media.

Queen Camilla, King Charles, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump posed for a final group picture on the final day of the state visit.

Unlike Wednesday, neither the Queen nor the first lady wore exuberant hats.

The first lady had a final round of engagements in Windsor, including a visit to the Royal Library and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House with the Queen.

The dolls’ house was built between 1921 and 1924 for Queen Mary and designed by the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.

President Trump then headed to Chequers to meet Sir Keir Starmer, making the short journey from Windsor Castle by the Marine One helicopter.

A car entourage was ready to greet the president and take him to the prime minister’s country house.
