The coronavirus pandemic has revealed how threadbare the social safety net is in the United Sates and how often Black and Latinx people fall through its gaps. In her new documentary “Through the Night,” which premiered virtually at the Tribeca Film Festival, filmmaker Loira Limbal takes an intimate look at the owner of a 24 hour daycare center in New Rochelle, NY, the essential workers who leave their children in her care and the sacrifices they all make to do their work.
