“Maudie: Blossoming of an artist…
The life of Canadian artist Maud Lewis is brought to the screen in a new movie starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke.
Set between 1938 and 1970 in Nova Scotia, Maudie charts the beginning and blossoming of the relationship between Lewis and and her employer, Everett.
Initially Everett’s housekeeper, then ultimately his wife, the shy Maud begins to flourish as the movie progresses, charting her rise to becoming one of Canada’s best known folk artists.
