In 2011, 10 women in Bilbao, Spain got together to publicly proclaim their self-love and marry themselves. It started out as a fun, rebellious act against traditional marriage, but they were actually tapping into something already underway globally. It’s called ‘sologamy’.

Traditional marriage is no longer a key goal for some people. Instead, they’re choosing to make a commitment to love themselves before others.
