Caroline ffiske is a former adviser to the New Zealand Government and a former Conservative councillor in Hammersmith & Fulham. She campaigns against the promotion of gender ideology. As she say on this episode of #NCFNewspeak:
“Recently, I complained to the BBC about its promotion of gender ideology – the idea that we all have an ‘inner true self’ that trumps our biological sex; the idea that sex isn’t real; it’s a spectrum, a social construct. Our ‘true self’ on the inside – and hey, why not use hormones or surgery to align your body to your ‘true self’. You will be considered stunning and brave (You will also be medicated for life.)
“I’m particularly concerned about how the BBC pushes gender ideology, to schoolchildren via ‘BBC Bitesize’. When I complained about a particular article, I got a cavalier denial – breathtaking in its indifference.
“I wanted to know why BBC Bitesize would teach our kids that ‘Non-binary is an umbrella term for people who don’t fit comfortably into “male” or “female” categories.’
“Why BBC Bitesize would want to introduce school children to supposedly ‘modern’ pronouns: (Ne/nem/nir) (Ve/vis/vir) (Ze/zem/zir). And a set known as ‘spivak’ (ey, em, eir).’
“I was angry to see the BBC giving these as examples of healthy conversation between schoolchildren: ‘I noticed you have “x-e” on your profile and I want to make sure I am pronouncing that right.’ ‘I heard you say you’re now using “ze/zir” pronouns’
“Well, the BBC Complaints team batted my concerns away. They had, after all, worked with Stonewall: They said ‘On occasion – as we have with Stonewall on this article – we have worked with experts to ensure that our content is factually accurate.’ Nevertheless, to assuage concerns over impartiality, they had updated the article with a link to a further LGBT charity. An outfit called Just Like Us, whose chief executive is… ex-Stonewall. Stonewall or ex-Stonewall – that is the BBC’s idea of impartiality.”
