Chelsea and Manchester City secured their places in the Champions League knockout stage with two matches to spare, with Liverpool joining them a game later – but there’s still work to be done for Manchester United.

There is plenty yet to be decided as the group stage reaches its conclusion, so who needs what to qualify and who is already through?

Group H

Group H - Man Utd (9), PSG (6), Leipzig (6), Istanbul Basaksehir (3)

Wed 2 December – Istanbul Basaksehir v RB Leipzig (17:55 GMT), Manchester United v Paris St Germain (20:00), Tues 8 December – Paris St Germain v Istanbul Basaksehir, RB Leipzig v Manchester United (both 20:00)

Manchester United only need one point from their final two games – against Paris St-Germain or RB Leipzig – to reach the last 16. A draw in both games will see them top the group.

But defeats in both games could see PSG and Leipzig qualify at United’s expense.

Group B

Group B - Borussia Monchengladbach (8), Shakhtar Donetsk (7), Real Madrid (7), Inter Milan (5)

Wed 9 December – Inter Milan v Shakhtar Donetsk, Real Madrid v Borussia Monchengladbach (both 20:00 GMT)

It remains wide open with one round of games still to go in Group B and all four teams still able to qualify. Leaders Borussia Monchengladbach travel to Real Madrid – if either side wins they are guaranteed to go through. The Germans will also progress with a draw. A point would only be enough for Real if Inter beat Shakhtar because of their superior head-to-head record over the Italians but not the Ukrainians.

A win takes Shakhtar through, and they would also progress with a draw if Real do anything but win. Inter have to win to reach the last 16 and even that would not be enough if the other game ends in a draw.

Group A

Group A - Bayern Munich (13), Atletico Madrid (6), Red Bull Salzburg (4), Lokomotiv Moscow (3)

Tues 1 December – Lokomotiv Moscow v Red Bull Salzburg (17:55 GMT), Atletico Madrid v Bayern Munich (20:00)

Bayern Munich have already reached the knockout stage and are guaranteed to finish top. Atletico Madrid need to avoid defeat by Red Bull Salzburg in their final match to guarantee qualification. A Salzburg win would see them progress instead.

Group C

Group C - Man City (13), Porto (10), Olympiakos (3), Marseille (3)

Wed 9 December – Manchester City v Marseille, Olympiakos v Porto (both 20:00 GMT)

Manchester City confirmed their place in the last 16 with a 1-0 victory over Olympiakos in round four of the group games and sealed top spot with a draw at Porto in their penultimate game.

Porto will join them in the last 16 as runners-up.

Group D

Group D - Liverpool (12), Atalanta (8), Ajax (7), FC Midtjylland (1)

Wed 9 December – Ajax v Atalanta, FC Midtjylland v Liverpool (both 17:55 GMT)

Liverpool ensured they would finish top of Group D with a 1-0 home win over Ajax. The battle for the runners-up spot is between the Dutch side and Atalanta of Italy. The latter currently hold a one-point advantage so will progress if that game ends in a draw.

Group E

Group E - Chelsea (10), Sevilla (10), Krasnodar (1), Rennes (1)

Wed 2 December – Krasnodar v Rennes (17:55 GMT), Sevilla v Chelsea (20:00), Tues 8 December – Chelsea v Krasnodar, Rennes v Sevilla (20:00)

Chelsea and Sevilla booked their places in the knockout stages with their late victories on Tuesday.

If either side win their meeting in Seville on Wednesday, they will top the group because of their head-to-head record (they drew 0-0 at Stamford Bridge).

Group F

Group F - Borussia Dortmund (9), Lazio (8), Club Bruges (4), Zenit St Petersburg (1)

Wed 2 December – Borussia Dortmund v Lazio, Club Bruges v Zenit St Petersburg (both 20:00 GMT), Tues 8 December – Lazio v Club Bruges, Zenit St Petersburg v Dortmund (both 17:55)

Dortmund play Lazio next. If either side win that game they will seal their last-16 spot. If Zenit beat Club Bruges, Dortmund and Lazio will be through.

Group G

Group G - Barcelona (12), Juventus (9), Dynamo Kiev (1), Ferencvaros (1)

Wed 2 December – Ferencvaros v Barcelona, Juventus v Dynamo Kiev (both 20:00 GMT), Tues 8 December – Barcelona v Juventus, Dynamo Kiev v Ferencvaros (both 17:55)

Barcelona and Juventus booked their places in the last 16 with victories on Tuesday.

Barca can top the group if they better Juventus’ result in the fifth round of games. Otherwise their meeting at the Nou Camp in the final game will decide the group winner.
