Chelsea are focused on winning trophies rather than signing players, manager Mauricio Pochettino said before Friday’s FA Cup fourth-round game against Aston Villa.
The January transfer window ends next week on Thursday, 1 February.
“We are desperate to win a title, not to sign players – I’m happy with the squad,” said Pochettino.
“But we know the last week has the most action and we need to be ready for anything that can happen in the squad.”
Chelsea struggled in the first half of the season, but have won their past three Premier League games and reached the Carabao Cup final by beating Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
Against Villa, they will be without forward Christopher Nkunku, who is recovering from a hip issue, and defender Malo Gusto, but both could be back for Chelsea’s next league game against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Pochettino praised his Villa counterpart Unai Emery before Friday’s 19:45 GMT kick-off, calling him “one of the best coaches in the world.”
“They have very good players, amazing players,” the Chelsea manager added. “It is clear the project of Aston Villa and that’s why they are performing and winning games.
“It doesn’t surprise me [that they are in the top four]. I am so happy for him and all the people involved in this project.”
