Day one of Derbyshire’s County Championship season opener against Gloucestershire has been abandoned without a ball being bowled because of a waterlogged outfield.
Play had been scheduled to begin at 11:00 BST but the playing surface failed an inspection called for 10:00.
Both teams are looking for a first County Championship victory since 2022 after winless campaigns last year.
This is the first of eight consecutive rounds of fixtures.
