Rain washed out the opening day of play at the Eastbourne International and Wimbledon qualifying events on Monday.
Play was abandoned shortly after 15:00 BST at the men’s and women’s event at Eastbourne, which is taking place a week before the start of Wimbledon.
Meanwhile, British number two Cameron Norrie – who reached the Queen’s final on Sunday – withdrew from Eastbourne.
“My body needs more time to recover so that I can be fully fit for Wimbledon,” said 25-year-old Norrie.
Wimbledon qualifying, which was also scheduled to start on Monday, was called off for the day just before 17:00 BST.
The washout means the schedule for Eastbourne on Tuesday is packed, featuring 28 singles matches and 16 doubles matches.
Britain’s Harriet Dart faces world number nine Iga Swiatek, while compatriots Jay Clarke, Liam Broady, James Ward and Heather Watson are also in action.
The weather forecast for Tuesday is still a little unsettled for Eastbourne but looks dry in Wimbledon, where first-round qualifying matches are scheduled for both men and women.
Players warming up for the grass-court Grand Slam at other tournaments had better luck with the weather, with former Wimbledon champions Petra Kvitova and Angelique Kerber winning their opening matches in Bad Homburg, Germany.
Czech top seed Kvitova, 31, who was returning to the tour after injuring her ankle at this month’s French Open after doing a media interview, had to come from behind to beat Polish qualifier Katarzyna Piter 4-6 6-1 6-4.
By contrast, German fourth seed Kerber took just 50 minutes to beat Russian Ekaterina Yashina 6-1 6-1.
