EuroBasket: Great Britain men’s and women’s fixtures and results

Great Britain Women – EuroBasket 2023 qualification draw

Great Britain’s women missed out on the 2021 finals of EuroBasket but have a good chance of reaching the 2023 edition after the draw was made for the qualifying tournament.

GB will play Greece and Portugal – two of the teams they eliminated on the way to a best-ever fourth-place finish in 2019 – and bottom seeds Estonia.

The winners of the group and the four best second-placed teams in the 10 groups will qualify for the finals in Slovenia and Israel.

Great Britain’s six qualifying ties – home and away – will be played in November 2021, November 2022 and February 2023.

GB failed to qualify for the 2021 finals after two defeats by eventual semi-finalists Belarus left them in second place in their group with an inferior points difference to other second-placed teams.

GB men – qualified for EuroBasket finals and World Cup qualifying

Great Britain’s men will travel to Milan for the group stage of the EuroBasket finals which start in September 2022.

Having seen the finals delayed by a year because the Tokyo Olympics were postponed, GB will start their campaign against Ukraine on 2 September.

The other teams drawn in GB’s group are Greece, Croatia, Estonia and first-round hosts Italy. If GB finish in the top four in the group they will travel to Berlin, Germany, for the final stages.

GB qualified for the finals thanks to a dramatic win against Germany in February’s qualifying bubble in Montenegro.

GB will also find out which European teams they will face in their World Cup 2023 qualifying group when the draw is made on 31 August.
