George Feeney is poised for a move to the Premier League with four clubs linked with the 15-year-old Glentoran striker.
Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and West Ham are believed to be interested in the teenager.
Feeney has made six appearances for the Irish League team and netted his first goal for the Glens last month.
He is the son of former Northern Ireland forward Warren Feeney, who is the Glentoran manager.
Indeed, the Feeney family has a long history in the game with three generations having played at international level.
Feeney made his senior Glens debut in September and scored his opening goal for the east Belfast side in their BetMcLean Cup win over Dollingstown at the Oval.
The schoolboy will hope to make another Glentoran appearance in Friday night’s Premiership game against second-placed Larne, with the Inver Park encounter being streamed live on the BBC Sport website and iPlayer.
Glentoran thumped Ballymena United 5-0 last weekend to chalk up a first league win in four games while five victories on the trot leave champions Larne two points behind pacesetters Linfield.
Larne beat the Glens 2-1 at the Oval in August and lie 10 points clear of their opponents but Warren Feeney was in bullish mood ahead of Friday’s game.
“We treat Larne the way we treat anyone else – it’s a name, it’s a club,” said the Oval manager.
“We’re a fantastic football club ourselves while Kenny [Bruce] and Tiernan [Lynch] have done fantastic at Larne, but it means nothing to me and that’s no disrespect.
“It’s just another game that we will go and try to win and hopefully the boys will put in a good performance.”
Larne boss Lynch is wary of Glentoran’s threat as they chase a win which would put them top of the standings.
“They’re a good team, they’ve good players and they’ve dangerous players,” he said.
“It’s massive game but they’re all massive games unfortunately – that’s what makes our league what it is.”
