Dates: 7-13 June: Venue: Nottingham Tennis Centre
Coverage: Watch live on the BBC Sport website and app.

British number one and top seed Johanna Konta is into the Nottingham Open semi-finals, beating Belgium’s Alison Van Uytvanck 6-3 7-6 (8-6).

Konta, 30, cruised through the first set against Van Uytvanck, 27, but the world number 67 played a tighter second set to force a tie-break.

Konta won on her fourth match point, as she bids for a first title since 2017.

“I tried to keep creating opportunities hoping I was going to take some,” said Konta, a two-time Nottingham finalist.

This is the world number 20’s best run this season, having not won back-to-back matches until playing here.

Konta faces Serbia’s 15th seed Nina Stojanovic on Saturday but withdrew from the doubles, playing with former champion Donna Vekic, from Croatia.

“It is just managing the loads in my knees,” said Konta, whose last title came at the Miami Open in 2017.

“This is the first time in a long time I have played successive matches and obviously my body is feeling it a little bit in the knees.

“It is manageable but it is about making these decisions to make sure I am in the best possible position to compete tomorrow and have an opportunity the day after if I do.”

Katie Boulter, who overcame fellow Briton Heather Watson to reach the last eight, started well against America’s Lauren Davis and won a first set tie-break.

But after seeing a trainer in between sets she had to retire with a right elbow injury, losing to Davis 7-6 (8-6) 0-2.

Konta, together with Watson, Boulter and Harriet Dart, are all in action again next week at the Birmingham Classic, where Konta will be the number two seed.

They will be joined by former Grand Slam champions Sam Stosur from Australia and Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko.

In the Nottingham ATP Challenger event, British men’s number one and top seed Dan Evans lost in the quarter-finals to American Denis Kudla 6-4 1-6 6-4.
