Newcastle Eagles player Seneca Knight says he is dreaming of a “Championship moment” as he gears up to compete for the first silverware of the basketball season.

The Eagles face Bristol Flyers at Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Sunday (15:30 GMT) in the Super League Basketball Trophy.

Knight, 24, a former Illinois State college player, joined Newcastle last summer from Latvian side Valmiera Glass Via.

“This is the reason we play basketball,” he told BBC Radio Newcastle. “Every kid who picks up a ball dreams of these Championship moments.”
