Jordan Addison caught the eye as the Minnesota Vikings sealed a narrow 22-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Rookie wide receiver Addison caught two touchdown passes in the first half from quarterback Kirk Cousins.
The best was a 60-yard score after he held a contested pass and spun clear to stroll into the end zone and help the Vikings to a third win of the season.
“For him to make that play on that ball where it was, it was a game-changing play,” said head coach Kevin O’Connell.
“We ask him to do a lot, and he did a lot.”
South African kicker Greg Joseph also played a key role at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, scoring 10 points with the boot.
Running back Christian McCaffrey scored two touchdowns for the 49ers, becoming the first NFL player to score at least one touchdown from scrimmage in 16 consecutive games, including the play-offs.
San Francisco had chances to get into a scoring position in the closing stages but quarterback Brock Purdy threw interceptions on each of their last two possessions.
After a positive start to the season, which saw the 49ers win their first five, they have now lost back-to-back games and host the improving Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday.
