Rangers have signed Dutch defender Robin Propper from FC Twente, subject to international clearance.
The 30-year-old was captain of the club that finished third in the Eredivise last season.
Propper has never played outside of the Netherlands, having spent time at De Graafschap and Heracles Almelo before joining Twente in 2021.
He is Rangers’ ninth summer recruit, following Vaclav Cerny, Hamza Igamane, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, Mohamed Diomande and the on-loan Oscar Cortes, the latter two having been at Ibrox last term.
“I was glad to hear about the club wanting to sign me,” Propper told Rangers TV. “I always said I wanted to have a new adventure in another country and when a club like Rangers comes in for you it feels surreal.
“This club breathes football and you want to play your football here.
“I spoke to Cyriel Dessers and Vaclav Cerny and they only had nice things to say about the club. It’s nice to see some familiar faces.”
Propper arrives within days of central defender Connor Goldson’s departure, the Englishman joining Aris Limassol.
