Rugby World Cup: Quarter-final schedule confirmed as England and Wales qualify

The women’s Rugby World Cup is being held in the southern hemisphere for the first time
Host: New Zealand Dates: 8 October-12 November
Coverage: Listen to home nations matches on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds; follow live text commentaries of selected matches on the BBC Sport website and app.

England and Wales have both qualified for the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Wales will face hosts New Zealand in Whangarei on Saturday and England will tackle Australia in Auckland on Sunday.

In the other quarter-finals, France meet Italy on Saturday and Canada play the United States on Sunday.

There will be live radio commentary of England and Wales’ matches on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.

There will also be live text commentaries on the BBC Sport website and app.

If England beat Australia they will play the winners of the Canada v USA match in the semi-finals.

Wales will face France or Italy if they overcome defending champions New Zealand.

Scotland, Rugby World Cup debutants Fiji, Japan and South Africa head home after failing to gain enough points to progress beyond the pool phase.

03:30 GMT: England/Australia v Canada/USA

06:30 GMT: New Zealand/Wales v France/Italy

Home nations semi-finals will be on BBC Radio 5 Live, with live text commentary on the BBC Sport website and app.

Saturday, 12 November

03:30 GMT: Bronze final – Eden Park, Auckland
