Defending champion Justin Thomas will play the first two rounds of the US PGA Championship with former champions Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa.

The trio tee off in Thursday’s opening round on the 10th hole at 13:11 BST.

Masters victor Jon Rahm, US Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick and Open champion Cameron Smith also play together.

World number two Scottie Scheffler is out with two-time winner Brooks Koepka, while 2021 champion Phil Mickelson is among the later starters.

Fellow American Jordan Spieth, who will complete the career Grand Slam with victory at Oak Hill, plays with Ireland’s Shane Lowry, Norway’s Viktor Hovland.
