Australian Hannah Green made a 30ft birdie putt on the final hole to win the HSBC Women’s World Championship.

The 27-year-old fired a five-under-par 67 on Sunday, including three birdies in her last three holes, to edge out France’s Celine Boutier.

Green started the final day at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club in second place behind Japan’s Ayaka Furue.

She bogeyed the 10th but finished on 13 under after her late run of birdies to clinch a fourth LPGA Tour victory.

Boutier matched Green with a final-round 67 and was 12 under while Furue had to settle for a share of eighth spot at seven under after double-bogeying her final hole.

Green’s winning putt on the 18th sparked huge celebrations as she sealed her first win since last year’s JM Eagle LA Championship.

“I knew I needed to at least birdie the last to win by one. As soon as that putt went in, I was like ‘Oh my God, I’ve won’,” said Green.

“You have to take these highs when they come because it doesn’t always come and golf can be a learning sport sometimes.

“I almost won the championship in 2021 when I was playing it for the first time. I remembered I three-putted 17 and then a three-putt again on 18 to lose.

“It feels great to have this trophy in my hands now.

“Celine played great today but she didn’t end up with the trophy in her hands. But she should still be proud of how she performed under this pressure.”
