Marc Hauser, a Swiss world record-holding skydiver, has added another first to his name by sky diving into the jet stream, the high altitude winds that sweep around the world at high speed.
Wearing just an ordinary sky diver’s suit and with a limited oxygen supply, he leapt from a balloon at 7,400 m to reach a speed of 270kph. But not everything went to plan.
BBC World News will air a two-part documentary about Marc’s jump and the potential of high-altitude winds to generate energy later this year.
