Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Date: 17 March Time: 14:00 GMTCoverage: Listen to audio commentary on the BBC Sport website & app, with the closing stages on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra from 16:00 GMT

The second edition of Women’s Premier League reaches its conclusion on Sunday and we’re guaranteed a new name on the trophy.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians are out, leaving Delhi Capitals to face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the showpiece.

The competition is the women’s equivalent of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the world’s biggest T20 franchise competition.

You can listen to live radio commentary on the BBC Sport website and app from 13:50 GMT, alongside live score updates.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When is the WPL 2024 final?

The final of the WPL 2024 takes place on Sunday, 17 March at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The game will start at 14:00 GMT.

Delhi Capitals will face Royal Challengers Bangalore, with both sides looking to win the tournament for the first time.

Who to look out for

Capitals are captained by former Australia skipper Meg Lanning and the top-order batter has plenty of experience in finals after winning four T20 World Cups and one 50-over competition in charge of her national side.

England all-rounder Alice Capsey is also part of the Capitals side, alongside South Africa superstar Marizanne Kapp.

Former England spinner Jonathan Batty coaches the team, while ex-England women’s head coach Lisa Keightley is also part of the set-up.

RCB are skippered by India star Smriti Mandhana, who commanded the highest fee in last year’s auction.

Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry, who has been one of the leading figures in the women’s game in the past two decades, is also part of their squad.

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine also plays for them, as does England’s Kate Cross, but the pace bowler is yet to feature.

How did both teams reach the final?

Capitals, who finished as runners-up in the inaugural competition in 2023, topped the group table, winning six of their eight matches.

RCB finished third in the group but beat defending champions Mumbai Indians in Friday’s Eliminator to reach the final.

Capitals won both games when the sides met in the group stages, firstly by 25 runs and then by one run.

Where to follow on the BBC

There will be live radio commentary on the final on the BBC Sport app and website with Henry Moeran leading the team.

The closing stages will also be on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra from 16:00 GMT.
