Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has accepted a one-match ban after being sent off in Wednesday’s Scottish Premiership win at Livingston.
Gerrard was shown two yellow cards at half-time after remonstrating with referee John Beaton, who had earlier booked Alfredo Morelos for diving.
Rangers have had Morelos’ yellow card rescinded on appeal.
Gerrard, who misses Saturday’s visit of St Mirren, says Rangers are “extremely disappointed” with Beaton’s attitude.
He added that the club have made their concerns clear to head of referee operations Crawford Allan.
In a statement released by Rangers, Gerrard – who felt the Morelos collision was a clear penalty – said: “After the game, I immediately apologised for my part in the incident at half-time.
“We expect to have the ability for managers and officials to have discussion, but frustratingly, the referee was not forthcoming. This has also been noted by other managers in recent weeks.
“After my apology post match, I expected the referee to call to apologise for his part in the incident but I didn’t hear from him.”
